<br />I. PURPOSE
<br />
<br />The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines and procedures for the use of the Live Scan
<br />Touch Print Fingerprint System.
<br />
<br />
<br />II. POLICY
<br />
<br />The policy of the Surprise Police Department is to provide, maintain, and operate the Live Scan
<br />Touch Print Fingerprint System for the purpose of accurately fingerprinting individuals involved in
<br />criminal activity. The system will also be utilized for fingerprinting inter-department employment
<br />applicants only. This policy will serve as procedures for all employees certified to operate the Live
<br />Scan System, to include maintenance, State of Arizona fingerprinting requirements as well as the
<br />storage and dissemination of collected records to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

<br />1. On a fingerprint, the point on a ridge, nearest to the point of divergence of two
<br />type lines, and located at or directly in front of the point of divergence
<br />
<br />B. Demographic Information:
<br />
<br /> 1. The information of the subject being fingerprinted which includes:
<br />
<br /> a. Full name
<br /> b. Date of birth
<br /> c. Home address
<br /> d. Social Security Number
<br /> e. Height
<br /> f. Weight
<br /> g. Hair color
<br /> h. Eye color
<br /> i. Scars, marks and tattoos
<br /> j. Alias
<br /> k. Driver’s license number
<br /> l. FBI number
<br />
<br />C. Disposition Sheet:
<br />
<br />1. A form which contains the subjects criminal history, arrest summary of the
<br />current charges, demographic information of the subject and contains the report
<br />of the conclusion of a criminal matter. This form is utilized to transmit the above
<br />
