PURPOSE <br /> <br />To establish guidelines and procedures to be used in maintaining and developing <br />lesson plans that are consistent with Agency guidelines, other Agency policies <br />and existing State requirements. <br /> <br />II. POLICY <br /> <br />A. The training coordinator will maintain all lesson plans for all classes taught <br />within the Department. <br />B. Each instructor assigned to present a training class will prepare a lesson <br />plan for the course of instruction. <br />C. Lesson plans are required for all training courses and will include <br />provisions for the following: <br /> <br />1. The lesson plan will be comprehensive and accurate. <br />2. The lesson plan curriculum will be job/task-related. <br />3. The lesson plan will be required of both internal and visiting <br />instructors, unless the lesson has been pre-approved by AZ POST. <br />4. All lesson plans will have a Department cover sheet attached <br />including AZ POST pre-approved lesson plans. The cover sheet <br />will include, but is not limited to: <br /> <br />a. The date the lesson plan was created. <br />b. The date the lesson plan was reviewed. <br />c. The date the lesson plan was revised. <br /> <br />III. PROCEDURE <br /> <br />A. The following guidelines and formats for lesson plan development will be <br />applied: <br /> <br />1. Course Title: The title of the course or school, (e.g., “Emergency <br />Vehicle Operations”). <br />2. Course Description: The subdivisions for each block of instruction, <br />(e.g., the subject, “Mechanics of Driving” may have instructional <br />units covering backing, skid control, obstacle course, etc.). <br />3. Method of Instruction: The type of instructional procedures to be <br />used. Method may include some or all of the following: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
