PURPOSE <br /> <br />The purpose of this policy is to establish procedures for the operation and record <br /> <br /> <br />II. POLICY <br /> <br />The policy of the Surprise Police Department is to have all incidents involving <br />vehicle pursuits reviewed by the PRB. Each review will be conducted within the <br />guidelines of this policy for the purpose of providing a recommendation to the Chief <br />of Police or designee as to whether the pursuit <br />the Chief of Police or designee. <br /> <br />III. COMPOSITION OF THE BOARD <br /> <br /> A. The PRB will consist of the following personnel: <br /> <br />1. Chairperson of the rank of Lieutenant (non-voting member) <br />2. Sergeant and Sergeant Alternate <br />3. Traffic Service Officer and Traffic Service Officer Alternate <br />4. Patrol Officer and Patrol Officer Alternate <br />5. Detective and Detective Alternate <br />6. Professional Development Division (PDD) Officer and PDD Officer <br />Alternate <br /> <br />IV. BOARD SELECTION PROCESS <br /> <br />A. The Chairperson will be appointed by the Chief of Police or designee. The <br />Chairperson will generate an announcement every two years for <br />memorandums of interest for open positions on the PRB. A list of names of <br />those interested will be collected and the list provided to the Chief of Police <br />or designee for final selection. The Chairperson will notify those selected in <br />writing and will send a Department-wide email announcing the new Board <br />members. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
