<br />SURPRISE POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT-UNIFORM COMMITTEEEQP-01.01 <br />Effective Date RevisionDateLast ReviewDate <br />Page 1of 3 <br />11-18-202111-18-202111-2021 <br />This revision moves ADM-51 into this addendum EQP-01.1 <br />I.PURPOSE: <br />The purpose of this policy is to establish procedures for the operation and record <br />keeping ofthe Surprise Police Department’s Uniform Committee. <br />II.POLICY: <br />The Surprise Police Department Uniform Committee isauthorized to review and test <br />new uniforms and equipmentfor department members. Uniform Committee <br />recommendations will beforwarded to the Police Chief or designee for approval, <br />implementation, and placement into department policy. <br />III.UNIFORMCOMMITTEEMEMBERS: <br />Assistant Chief Committee Co-Chair <br />Appointed Lieutenant Committee Co-Chair <br />Sergeant and/ordesignated alternate <br />Traffic officer and/ordesignated alternate <br />Patrol officer and/or designated alternate <br />Detective and/or designated alternate <br />Training Unit officer and/or designated alternate <br />Professional Standards Unit sergeantand/ordesignated alternate <br />Communications supervisorand/or designated alternate <br />Non-sworn employee and/or designated alternate <br />Police policy analyst <br />IV.COMMITTEE SELECTION PROCESS: <br />A.Opportunities to participate in the uniform committee will be announced via <br />email when members can submit memorandums ofinterest for open <br />positions. <br />B.TheAssistant Chief andthe appointed lieutenant will review submissions for <br />final selection. Members who are selectedwill be notified via email. <br /> <br />
